With 3 kilometers to go, four riders race into the finish of the World Championships: Italian Felice Gimondi, Belgian Freddy Maertens, Spanish Luis Ocaña, and the great Belgian Eddy Merckx. At the finish, the race ended as a triumph for Gimondi, winning the World Championships, and beating his Belgian rival (who broke to tears at the finish) Eddy Merckx.
