The 1992 Monaco Grand Prix delivered one of Formula One’s most intense battles as Nigel Mansell relentlessly pursued Ayrton Senna through the narrow streets of Monte Carlo. After dominating much of the race, Mansell’s commanding lead in the Williams FW14B vanished when a loose wheel nut forced an unscheduled pit stop on lap 71. Rejoining just seconds behind Senna’s McLaren MP4/7A, Mansell launched a ferocious chase over the final laps, closing the gap rapidly as his fresher tires clawed for grip
