Springfield, Mo. - On Jan. 7, 2026, at 11:22 p.m., Springfield Police Officers responded to the report of a domestic assault at 3525 S. Juniper Avenue. When Officers arrived, they found Suzette Flores, 47, from Springfield, dead in the home. Suzette’s family has been notified. During the investigation, Felipe Ayala III, 34, was identified as the suspect. Ayala was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail for first degree murder. Police investigating officer involved shooting on Christmas Eve. Springfield police investigate officer-involved shooting Springfield, Mo. – On Dec. 24, 2025, at 9 p.m., Springfield police officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2400 block of N. East Ave. The suspect was holding the victim against her will. As officers were setting up a perimeter, the victim escaped the home. The suspect exited the residence with a gun pointed at officers. Officers then engaged and shot the suspect.
